The easiest, most fun and enjoyable way to celebrate Halloween is to make your own indoor Halloween decorations. This way, not only you save money, but you will feel more involved in the Halloween spirit. Therefore, you’ve gathered for you some fun Halloween decorations ideas.

Halloween Wreath

A wreath can be a very nice accessory to a wall or a door in your house.  You will need:

  • polystyrene(you can cut a large piece of polystyrene and shape it)
  • a piece of cloth
  • piece of material in different colors
  •  glue
  •  ribbon
  • needle and thread
  • artificial flowers or Halloween ornaments
Cut the cloth, wrap it around the polystyrene form and then glue it together. Wrap the ribbon around the crown diameter and glue its ends. Also, don’t forget to glue some artificial flowers or some Halloween toys.

Spooky hand

When it comes to indoor Halloween decorations, you can even improvise with items that you already have in your house, as in the case of the next decoration. This hand will give you and your guests chills.

You will need:

  • clean gloves
  • thread
  • water or juice
  • food coloring
  • freezer
Add a few drops of food coloring or beetroot juice in a bowl filled with water. For variety, you’ll need more pots or bowls in which to mix different color. Use less dye first, then add a little more until you reach the desired color.
The next step is to pour the solution into a rubber glove. Wash the glove before you use it. Tie it at the end and make sure it is not broken and that the liquid does not flow. Then you have to put the glove with water in the freezer for 2-3 hours.
After the water turned into ice, take the glove and place it for a few seconds in a bowl with warm water. The heat will help loosen the ice so it is easier to pull off the glove. The last step is to remove the glove and place the ice shaped hand in a bowl with juice or water in a contrasting color.

You can match the spooky hand decoration with other bloody decorations. Just throw ketchup on everything you have. To top it off, dress yourself as a bloody zombie.

Paper ghosts

If you have children, and you want to keep them busy during the holiday while you prepare dinner, give them the task to make paper ghosts.
You will need:

  • white napkins
  • white thread
  • ping-pong balls or foam balls
  • black marker
Place the ball in the center of the paper towel, and keep the sides of equal size.
Tie it around the ball, creating the “neck” of the ghost. Use white thread and tie it loosely. Depending on the time and materials you have available, you can improve the final result. If you spray some water, you will make the paper tighten around the ball. After the water has evaporated, spray a layer of hairspray to keep the desired shape.
Paint a face for the new character with a black marker and hang your little ghost on the wall or at the windows.

Ice cube surprises

These ice cubes are perfect as indoor Halloween decorations because you can choose from a variety of shapes and forms.
You will need:

  • jelly insects or small toys
  • ice cube tray
  • freezer
  • water or juice
Choose a larger ice cube tray so that there is enough space around the figurine. Place each of the jellies or figurines in the ice cube tray and fill the tray with water or juice. Then place the tray in the freezer for 2-3 hours or leave it over night.
You can use jelly shaped insects (worms, bugs) or you can buy small plastic figurines. The second option allows you to choose from a wider range of surprises, but it is a risky method: guests, especially children can ingest the plastic figurines.
